Leslie Kean
Investigative Journalist, Author
New York Times Bestselling Author
Co-author, 2017 AATIP Disclosure Story
Leslie Kean is an investigative journalist and author who has specialized in UFO/UAP coverage for over two decades. She is the author of "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record" (2010), a New York Times bestseller with a foreword by John Podesta, which presented testimony from credentialed military and government witnesses and helped legitimize UAP as a topic for mainstream journalism.
Kean was one of three co-authors, alongside Helene Cooper and Ralph Blumenthal, of the December 16, 2017 New York Times article that revealed the existence of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). The article, which included the first public release of the Pentagon UAP videos, is widely credited with transforming UAP from a fringe topic into a subject of serious policy discussion. Kean brought years of subject matter expertise to the reporting team.
In June 2023, Kean and Blumenthal broke the David Grusch story in The Debrief, reporting on a former intelligence official's claims about a secret UAP retrieval program. This story preceded Grusch's congressional testimony and contributed to renewed congressional interest in UAP oversight. Kean continues to report on UAP developments and government transparency efforts.
